Tom Irwin

Biography

Tom Irwin, a member of the Steppenwolf ensemble since 1979, has been involved in over 50 productions with the company. He was last seen on the Steppenwolf stage in The Christians. Other Steppenwolf acting highlights include Domesticated, The Grapes of Wrath (also La Jolla and The Royal National Theatre London), Balm in Gilead (also off-Broadway), My Thing of Love (also Broadway), The Homecoming, Three Sisters, Tracers, Hedda Gabler, Aunt Dan and Lemon, The Seafarer (also Geffen Playhouse), Frank’s Wild Years with Tom Waits, Space, Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, And A Nightingale Sang, We All Went Down To Amsterdam, Little Egypt, The Miss Firecracker Contest and A Parallelogram (also Mark Taper Forum), among many others. He was in Up For Grabs with Madonna (Wyndam Theatre London); Misha’s Party (Williamstown Theatre Festical); Fiction (Roundabout Theatre Company); New England (Manhattan Theatre Club) and Much Ado About Nothing with Helen Hunt and Lyle Lovett and Pyrenees (Kirk Douglas Theatre). His film and television credits include Mr. Jones, Deceived, Midnight Run, 21 Grams, Marley and Me, My Life and Times, My So-Called Life, Related, Saving Grace, Chasing Life and Devious Maids. Irwin has been on the faculty of The Goodman School of Drama at DePaul University and Columbia College in Chicago. He is a class instructor at Steppenwolf Theater West School of Drama in Los Angeles, California. He currently plays Fred Micklin in the Apple TV series The Morning Show.
