Synopsis

Sketchbook is a short play festival like no other. Each year Collaboraction guides over 200 artists through an exciting collaboration where 15-20 short performances of 7 minutes or less mingle with visual art and music. Every night a different musical guest creates a sonic environment before, between, and after the performances allowing each night its own unique experience. Throughout the space, contemporary visual art is installed and exhibited in dialogue with the mood of the performances. This unique Chicago production will, once again be led by Collaboraction’s Executive Artistic Director and Festival Director Anthony Moseley, as well as co-producers Sandra Delgado and Kimberly Senior. The plays for Program B are:

  • Barrio ABCs by Quiara Alegría Hudes; directed by Meghan McCarthy
  • Deep Blue Sea by Keith Huff; directed by Seth Bockley
  • good to you by Michael John Garcés; directed by Joanie Schultz
  • It’s About Time by Mara Casey; directed by Anthony Moseley
  • LA 8 AM by Mark Harvey Levine; directed by Mike Thornton
  • Lesson One by Cassandra Sanders; directed by Nathaniel Swift
  • Love Seat (If You Hate Me, Why Not Leave Me?) written and directed by Kevin O'Donnel
