Seth Bockley

Seth is a Chicago-based playwright, director and performer. He won a 2009 Equity Jeff Award for Best New Adaptation for Jon, from a story by George Saunders. He has created design-focused theater with several notable Chicago companies including Walkabout (Impossible Cities), Collaboraction (Jon, Deep Blue Sea), and Redmoon (Boneyard Prayer, Laika’s Coffin), where he spent two years as a directing apprentice through TCG's New Generations program. Current commissions include the book for February House, a collaboration with lyricist and composer Gabriel Kahane for the Public Theater's Musical Theater Initiative, and an adaptation of CommComm by George Saunders, for The Goodman Theatre’s Ofner Prize. His collaboratively devised new work, The Twins Would Like To Say, produced by Dog & Pony Theatre Company, will premiere at Steppenwolf’s Garage Theatre in February 2010.
