Synopsis

The Memory of Water is playwright Shelagh Stephenson's comic and touching account of the meeting of three sisters on the occasion of their mother's death. The irreverent and witty dialogue among the sisters gives way, finally, to the deeper bond they share. Ms. Stephenson's play enjoyed an extended run at London's Hampstead Theatre in 1997; this production marks its American premiere.
