Tamara Jenkins

Tamara Jenkins wrote and directed the movie Slums of Beverly Hills, which premiered at the Directors' Fortnight of the 1998 Cannes Film Festival. Her short films Fugitive Love and Family Remains have been shown at the Museum of Modern Art and have garnered prizes such as a Special Recognition Award for Excellence in Short Filmmaking from the Sundance Film Festival. Jenkins is a recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship for Filmmaking. She also works with children in theater and film through organizations such as The 52nd Street Project. She is currently writing an original screenplay that she plans to direct for This Is That/Focus Features.
