Michael Shannon previously appeared at Steppenwolf in Mojo and Man From Nebraska. He is an ensemble member at A Red Orchid Theatre where he recently made his directorial debut with Hunger and Thirst. Chicago credits include Bug, Gagarin Way, Mr. Kolpert (A Red Orchid), Grace (Northlight), The Idiot (Lookingglass), Shrapnel in the Heart (Famous Door), Killer Joe, Fun and Nobody (Next Lab). Mike originated the roles of Chris Smith in Killer Joe, Peter Evans in Bug, and Harry in Man From Nebraska, all written by Steppenwolf ensemble member, Tracy Letts. Film credits include Jesus’ Son, Cecil B. Demented, Tigerland, Pearl Harbor, High Crimes, 8 Mile, Kangaroo Jack, Criminal, Grand Theft Parsons, Dead Birds, Zambonie Man, Mullitt, The Woodsman, Lucky You, World Trade Center and the upcoming Bug.
