Mary Ann Thebus

MARY ANN THEBUS was last seen at Steppenwolf in Detail of a Larger Work and The Ordinary Yearning of Miriam Buddwing. She taught for two summers at the School at Steppenwolf and has been performing on Chicago stages for over twenty years. Although she has performed in other states, cities and countries (doing English speaking theatre in Turkey, Thailand and Iran), Chicago is where she has focused and done most of her work. She has been nominated for numerous Jeff Awards and is the 2002 recipient of the After Dark Award for principle actor. Her most recent performance was in The Glass Menagerie with The Gift Theatre which was remounted at Theatre on the Lake and in the fall she will be working under her daughter Jessica’s direction in Inherit the Wind at Northlight. She is a teacher of acting at The Artistic Home and coaches privately.
