Synopsis

Lookingglass Theatre Company returns to the Steppenwolf Studio with their acclaimed production of The Arabian Nights. First presented in Chicago in 1991, The Arabian Nights is a collection of 1,100 year-old Indian, Persian and Arabic stories narrated by the bride Scheherezade to save herself from her murderous husband. As long as she can keep him entertained with these romantic and often humorous tales, he will spare her. Combining Lookingglass' trademark combination of simple theatrical storytelling with dance, acrobatics, song and music, this award winning production embodies a long-ago world of wisdom, hope and faith.
