Steppenwolf’s 2017 Women in the Arts Luncheon on February 6, 2017 was an inspiring afternoon with singer, director and Tony-award winner Phylicia Rashad. Guests enjoyed lunch while Phylicia shared an intimate look into her formative years as an actress, her experience working with Anna Shapiro on Steppenwolf’s Broadway run of August: Osage County, and some of her favorite roles including Shelah in ensemble member Tarell Alvin McCraney’s Head of Passes.

250 leaders from Chicago’s civic, corporate and artistic communities came together for the afternoon to raise crucial funds for Steppenwolf’s education and professional development programs, including Steppenwolf for Young Adults, our nationally recognized education program, the School at Steppenwolf, and the Professional Leadership Programs. Many thanks to all who contributed to the success of this year’s event.

We hope you’ll join us on Wednesday, July 19 for our Women in the Arts Theater Night for Hir, by Taylor Mac, featuring one of Steppenwolf's own women in the arts, ensemble member Amy Morton. Contact Sarah Giovannetti, Special Events Associate, at 312-654-5664 or sgiovannetti@steppenwolf.org to reserve your tickets for this special cocktail reception and performance.
