RENEW TODAY TO RESTORE TOMORROW WitH RISK FREE MEMBERSHIP

A MEMBERSHIP PLAN FOR UNCERTAIN TIMES

As the country, Illinois and our precious Chicagoland continue to navigate a return to normalcy following COVID-19, it’s difficult to understand exactly how that might unfurl in a world that remains riddled with uncertainty. We have a plan.

We are going to respect Governor Pritzker and Mayor Lightfoot and all social distancing ordinances with an abundance of caution to protect our artists and our audiences. As excited as we are to welcome you back to the theatre, that will not happen until the health & safety of our artists and our audiences are assured. We recognize that you also have many concerns and questions about what our return to the theatre might look like—and that committing to a 21/22 membership might cause you more pause than you would wish.

We would like to offer you the opportunity to renew today to restore tomorrow with a risk free membership guarantee.

RISK FREE MEMBERSHIP

If COVID-19 circumstances impede our 21/22 season by either NOT allowing us to perform or by making YOU feel uncomfortable returning to the theatre, we will be prepared to offer you three alternatives:

  • Call Audience Services for a refund of your ticket value
  • Put your membership dollars on account to be used for a future Steppenwolf production
  • Donate your ticket value in your continued investment in Steppenwolf's future

What happens if social distancing ordinances impact my seats or dates?

Our greatest hope is that we welcome you back as you last visited us!  However, if social distancing ordinances or the general care & abundance of caution for the health of our artists and audience demand otherwise, we will find comparable seats & dates to the best of our ability and communicate any changes with you in a timely manner.

I love Steppenwolf – but my life is a little uncertain right now.  May I have a bit more time to consider renewing?

Yes! While we won't be able to gurantee you your same seats now that the renewal deadline has passed, you can still call Audience Services at 312-335-1650 to discuss your options.

I don’t see play dates listed in any of your materials—where can I find those?

In order to stay flexible as we follow recommended guidelines from local government and health officials, we are not solidifying play run dates at this time. We will announce performance dates when we are closer to returning to stage.

Is the building still on track to open Seagull?

YES! Seagull is absolutely going to open the new Ensemble Theater in Honor of Helen Zell. The schedule has been pushed to spring of 2022, and member seat assignments will be announced later.

How will the theatre-going experience change?

Our priority has always been to create a safe, inviting and relaxed environment for everyone who comes through our doors. We are working with experts to determine what modifications will keep our spaces safe for audiences. We’re taking our time to craft a thoughtful plan for safety, and you’ll be the first to know what steps we’re taking!

"THEATRE HAS ALWAYS REMINDED US OF OUR INTRINSIC ONENESS, OUR EVER-PRESENT HUMANITY.  STEPPENWOLF WILL USE THIS MOMENT TO CONTINUE TO FIND WAYS TO BRING US TOGETHER, CLOSER, FROM WHEREVER WE ARE."

- STEPPENWOLF ARTISTIC DIRECTOR ANNA D. SHAPIRO
