About the Show

On select Sundays, join us for fun, casual & free pre/post show events to engage further with The Doppelgänger. Stick around after the matinee or swing by early if you're attending the evening performance.

Farce has for centuries been a theatrical genre which skewered reality and entertained audiences by presenting crude characterizations of characters in improbable and absurd situations. What does farce uniquely offer audiences and artists wishing to examine our world today? And for the artists tasked with remounting classic farce (or staging a world premiere), how does one remain true to form that may challenge our current standards for representing lives realities and identities on stage?

Panelists include Bobby Kennedy (Director of new Work & Dramaturgy, Writers Theatre), Marvin Quijada a.k.a Silent Marvin (Clown, Mime, Electronic Musician) and Tania Richard (Actress, Writer and Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Consultant).

Moderated by Lavina Jadhwani

Merle Reskin Garage Theatre, 1624 N. Halsted St.

Casting note: the role of Thomas/Jimmy will be played by Eric Slater in place of Rainn Wilson for the April 22, 7:30pm performance.
