Scenic Carpentry Apprentices fabricate, install, and strike scenery. Apprentices will be introduced to the following: safe operation of power tools; ability to read draftings; fabrication of wood and metal scenic elements; rigging; sewing; and welding. Apprentices will assist with the show build; load-ins and load-outs and learn the safe operation of a counterweight fly house. Valid drivers license desirable. This is a scene shop-based position (Scene Shop is located in West Humboldt Park).

Applicants interested in learning about the day-to-day functions of a professional theatre's scene shop should apply. This position is not catered for design students. Rather it is for those interested in the field of carpentry as it pertains to technical theatre.
