Sarah Hughey

Recent Chicago credits include Port Authority and Hamlet (Writers’ Theatre), Motortown and Moment (Steep Theatre), The Mountaintop (Court Theatre), Invasion!, Lake Effect, Night over Erzinga , and Scorched (Jeff Award for Lighting Design) (Silk Road Rising), The Elephant and the Whale (Chicago Children’s Theatre w/ Redmoon Theater), Collected Stories (American Blues Theater), The Art of Murder (Fox Valley Rep), i put the fear of mexico in ‘em (Teatro Vista) and The Iron Stag King (House Theatre, Jeff nomination for Lighting Design). Upcoming projects include Tom Jones (Northlight Theatre), Grounded (American Blues Theater) and The Hundred Flowers Project (Silk Road Rising). Sarah is the resident LD for Silk Road Rising and a collaborating artist with Yellow House, an interdisciplinary performance collective. She is the 2013 recipient of Chicago’s Michael Maggio Emerging Designer Award. Sarah earned her MFA from Northwestern University and teaches lighting design at Northwestern and Columbia College.
