Kurt Sharp

KURT SHARP (Scenic Design) is a set designer and scenic artist who enjoys collaborating on new works. Nickel History is the eighth play he has designed for director Ann Filmer. The others were The Beats, Our Dad in Atlantis, Menorca, Stations Lost (The Steppenwolf Garage) This Train at both 16th Street and The Steppenwolf Garage, and two premieres at Stage Left Theatre: Spare Change and In Times of War (Joseph Jefferson Citation Outstanding New Work). As a scenic artist he has painted scenery for Broadway bound productions (The Addams Family, TheProducers), Broadway touring productions (Shrek, Billy Elliot, Mary Poppins, The Phantom of the Opera, Wicked), for regional theater and opera companies. Based in Chicago he has designed sets for many area companies including: Chicago Cultural Center, Light Opera Works, Steppenwolf Theatre, Theatre at the Center and Victory Gardens. As the resident set designer for Drury Lane Oakbrook he designed over forty productions including seven Joseph Jefferson Award Best Musical nominees.
