Emily Schwend

Emily Schwend (Playwright) attended The Juilliard School and New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Her plays include Carthage, South of Settling and Route One Off. In New York, her work has been developed or produced by Roundabout Theatre Company, Page 73 Productions, The Juilliard School, Partial Comfort Productions, Ars Nova, the Stella Adler Studio Acting School and Christine Jones’ Theatre for One booth. Regionally, her plays have been developed at the O’Neill Playwrights Conference, A Contemporary Theatre in Seattle, Washington, Marin Theatre Company in California, the Source Festival in Washington, DC and Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia. Emily is a two-time Lecomte du Nouy Prize winner, the 2009 David Calicchio Emerging American Playwrights Prize winner, the 2011 ACT Theatre New Play Award recipient, a 2010 Steinberg New Play Award finalist and a 2009/10 Interstate 73 member. Emily was born in Texas, raised all over the world and is now based in Brooklyn, New York.
