Northern Trust Dinner 5/23/05
The Northern Trust hosted an exclusive dinner on the Downstairs Theatre stage which included an intimate conversation between ensemble member John Malkovich and Steppenwolf Artistic Director Martha Lavey, and a five-course culinary adventure donated by celebrity chef Rick Bayless. Steppenwolf would like to extend a special thank-you to Steppenwolf trustee Charlie Mueller and The Northern Trust for hosting this very special evening on the Steppenwolf stage and for expanding their significant support for our theater with this unique occasion. The Northern Trust has been a long-standing partner of Steppenwolf Theatre Company since 1983, having supported our annual campaign, the capital campaign of 1990, our current educational programming for children and families, and our campaign to build an endowment for Steppenwolf Theatre Company’s future.
YES Premiere 6/15/05
Steppenwolf Theater Company rolled out the red carpet and welcomed ensemble member Joan Allen, film director/writer Sally Potter and Pulitzer Prize-winning film critic Roger Ebert for the exclusive Chicago premiere of the critically acclaimed film YES. After the screening, guests were treated to a lively Q&A between Allen and Potter, hosted by Ebert. A family style Mexican dinner followed in Adobo Grill. All funds raised from the evening benefited The School at Steppenwolf. We extend a special thank-you to Allen for her efforts in securing the film for our premiere and to Sony Pictures Classics for allowing us to host this special evening.
