STC [heart] NYC

by David Hawkanson

As was the case last year, two Steppenwolf productions will be showcased in New York City this year. In the month of October, Steppenwolf’s production of When the Messenger Is Hot is being presented Off-Broadway at 59E59 Theater as a part of its “Go Chicago” Festival. When the Messenger Is Hot, adapted by Laura Eason from the book by Elizabeth Crane, played as part of Steppenwolf’s First Look Festival of New Work. In December, Steppenwolf’s acclaimed production of ensemble member Tracy Letts’ August: Osage County opens at Broadway’s Imperial Theater. The production premiered at Steppenwolf as the final production of our 31st subscription season. We are indeed honored to have both of these Steppenwolf premiere productions showcased for New York audiences, and recognize this couldn’t have happened without the continued support of our audiences and supporters here in Chicago.
