A highlight of Steppenwolf Theatre Company’s Annual Spring Gala, the theater’s premiere fundraising event of the Season, is the always popular Star with The Stars Live Auction sponsored by LaSalle Bank. All funds raised from Gala 2004 support artistic and community outreach programming at Steppenwolf.
Recently, some of the auction prize winners enjoyed once-in-a-lifetime dinner party evenings. At the world-renowned SPAGO Beverly Hills, guests enjoyed dinner prepared by Chef Wolfgang Puck with guests of honor Sir Anthony and Stella Hopkins, Steppenwolf ensemble members Joan Allen, Moira Harris and Gary Sinise. In Chicago, at the home of Chef Rick and Deann Bayless, guests of honor Steppenwolf ensemble members John Mahoney and Laurie Metcalf and Steppenwolf’s Artistic Director Martha Lavey joined auction winners for an outdoor culinary feast prepared by their gracious hosts.
The settings, the cuisine, the company and conversations were magical; this was a night no one present will forget.
Steppenwolf expresses its deepest appreciation to the winners and to Chefs Wolfgang Puck and Rick Bayless for their extreme generosity to our theater.
