NORTHERN TRUST TAKES A LEAD ROLE AT STEPPENWOLF

For more than 20 years, Northern Trust has been an invaluable supporter of the theater through many different initiatives including our Arts Exchange education program, our endowment campaign, Staging the Future: The Campaign for Steppenwolf, and as the sponsor of our season opening preshow dinners. Steppenwolf is very grateful for all of Northern Trust’s generous support and is honored that this partnership continues to grow each season. Northern Trust’s sponsorship of Arts Exchange helps bring theater to the most underserved communities in Chicago, reaching more than 12,000 students, teachers and family members every year. The company’s leadership gift to Staging the Future: The Campaign for Steppenwolf demonstrates its commitment to the theater and has helped to secure Steppenwolf’s financial future. Most recently, Northern Trust has extended its generosity to support our season-opening preshow dinners at Vinci Restaurant. For both last season’s production of Topdog/Underdog and this season’s production of The Dresser, the Northern Trust hosted dinner provided an opportunity to toast the season and thank those who have helped make it possible. Steppenwolf extends its deepest thanks to Northern Trust for its unyielding support, and gives a special thank-you to Charlie Mueller, Senior Vice President – Personal Financial Planning and valued Steppenwolf Trustee.

THE SHUBERT FOUNDATION AND OTHER LEADING FOUNDATIONS GIVE THEIR SUPPORT TO STEPPENWOLF

Steppenwolf is proud to announce that The Shubert Foundation, a leading national foundation, renewed its long-term support of Steppenwolf with a generous grant for general operating funds. An important partner to the theater since 1991, we are honored to recognize The Shubert Foundation as a Grand Benefactor Sponsor. General operating support from the foundation community is crucial to the life of the theater. Contributions of this kind support Steppenwolf’s overall mission and programming and make it possible to direct funds to areas that are most in need. Steppenwolf is grateful to the following leading foundations for their ongoing general operating support: The Prince Charitable Trusts, a partner since 1983; The Buchanan Family Foundation, a partner since 1989; The Julius Frankel Foundation, a partner since 1989; The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, a partner since 2003; and The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, a partner since 1989. Steppenwolf salutes these important funding partners for their vital ongoing general operating support and demonstrated belief in our work. Contributions from these organizations allow Steppenwolf to maintain the high level of quality programming and artistic excellence our patrons have come to expect from us, and we look forward to sharing the successes of the 2004-2005 season with them and all of our audiences.
