2004 – 2005 Directors Circle Schedule of Events

Sunday, October 10, 2004 – Rehearsal Kickoff for the cast of Cherry Orchard The first subscription series production to be staged in Steppenwolf's Upstairs Theatre, Cherry Orchard, will begin its rehearsal process with an intimate evening with the Directors Circle. Thursday, January 27, 2005 – Dinner with the Director of Intimate Apparel See a production of Intimate Apparel, the highly acclaimed new work by Lynn Nottage, through the eyes of the director, Steppenwolf associate Artist Jessica Thebus. Your special evening will feature a private dinner with Jessica Thebus, a performance of Intimate Apparel and a post-show discussion with the cast. Sunday, March 6, 2005 – Cocktail Reception with the cast of Lost Land The first of two works to come out of Steppenwolf's New Plays Initiative this season, Lost Land reunites playwright Stephen Jeffreys with Steppenwolf ensemble member John Malkovich. The rehearsal process will begin with a private evening with the Directors Circle. Wednesday, June 1, 2005 – Welcome Reception for the cast of The Pain and the Itch The final production and second new work of Steppenwolf's 29th season, The Pain and the Itch revisits the dark comical genius of playwright Bruce Norris. This special event will feature a cocktail reception with the cast during the first week of rehearsals. Spring/Summer 2005 – First Look Repertory Festival The Directors Circle, as key supporters of Steppenwolf's New Plays Initiative, will play a large role in our inaugural First Look Repertory of New Work. This new program will find participants deeply immersed in all aspects of the production process of a new play, from play readings and rewrites to rehearsals and opening night celebrations! The Directors Circle will enjoy a wealth of behind-the-scenes events and opportunities at Steppenwolf Theatre Company this season. In addition to two complimentary season subscriptions, members will receive VIP ticket exchange services, priority seating for single-ticket purchases and the above calendar of events, custom-made to enhance their Steppenwolf experience.
