Ian Belknap is founder and Overlord of WRITE CLUB, the world's greatest competitive reading series (Best Literary Event, 2013 Chicago Reader poll; Best Live Reading Series, 2013 Chicago Magazine "Best Of" issue, Best Reinvention of the Reading Series, 2012 - Creative Loafing [Atlanta] reader poll) that is now in five North American cities, with more on the way. WRITE CLUB is an all-volunteer army that has given over $10,000 to charity. Bare-Knuckled Lit, the WRITE CLUB anthology, will be released in June, 2014. In addition to performing in just about every Live Lit show in Chicago, he has also performed the full-length solo shows Wide Open Beaver Shot of My Heart: A Comedy With a Body Count; Uncle Dad Is Rip-Shit, You Guys; and Terminal Ferocity.
