For more than 30 years, Steppenwolf’s Veterans’ Night Preview Series has been an integral part of our outreach into the Chicago community. Steppenwolf is honored to recognize our local heroes and share an evening of great live theater with our nation’s veterans.

The Veterans’ Night Preview Series has special significance to the theater’s founders and artists. In 1984, co-founder Gary Sinise directed Tracers, which was written by an ensemble of actors who served in Vietnam, and veterans came by the hundreds. From Tracers on, Steppenwolf has honored veterans with a free performance and dinner at the final dress rehearsal of each of our five subscription series plays. It is a tradition that we are proud lives on to this day.

If you are a veteran who has served or is currently serving in the United States Armed Forces, we thank you for your service to our country.
