Questions?
Call the Steppenwolf Parking Hotline: 312-335-1774
If you find yourself arriving in the 30 minutes prior your ticketed curtain time, please call our parking hotline when you’re near the theater – we’ll let you know if we still have space in our facility, or suggest an alternative.
PRE-SHOW EMAILS:
Pre-show emails are deployed the day prior to your performance. If we anticipate travel delays or high parking capacity, we will include this information in your pre-show email. Please be sure to read the parking section of this communication for information regarding parking capacity or potential delays. If you would like to confirm that your on-file email address is current, please email customerservice@steppenwolf.org.
Self-Parking At Steppenwolf
Self-parking is available in the Steppenwolf parking garage located at 1624 N Halsted, approximately 150 feet south of the theater, on the same side of the street.
Please note that the garage does not have an elevator. (For accessible parking options, please see below).
It is possible for the demand for parking to exceed our capacity. For the best experience, please check out the parking tips and alternatives we list below.
Valet Parking
We are proud to partner with Rapid Valet to offer valet parking service directly in front of our main entrance at 1650 N Halsted St.
Valet service is available starting at 5pm on weeknights, 1pm on weekends, and at 12 noon before Wednesday matinees. Patrons can pull into the lot at 1700 N. Halsted St. to meet valet attendants, and cars will be held for up to 90 minutes after the conclusion of the final performance of the day.
Accessible Parking
For vehicles displaying disability placards or plates, there are five accessible parking spaces in our valet parking lot at 1700 N Halsted, just north of the theater.
These spaces are located near the entrance to Front Bar, which has push-button doors. Front Bar connects directly to the main lobby, so we suggest entering there.
If you want to avoid stairs but don’t have a disability placard or plates, we encourage you to take advantage of our valet service. Our parking garage does not have an elevator.
To make arrangements for a courtesy wheelchair in advance of your visit, please e-mail access@steppenwolf.org. For more information on accessibility at Steppenwolf, please visit our Accessibility page.
PAYMENT: Self-parking in the accessible spaces of the 1700 lot costs $20. Payment can be made with cash or Zelle to the valet attendants. Alternatively, after 5pm, payment can be made inside at the Front Bar café using a credit card. You will not need to go back to your car after you’ve paid – we’ll record your vehicle info and share it with our parking team so you don’t get towed.
