Kevin Anderson made his Off-Broadway debut in Steppenwolf's Orphans in 1984. Kevin's subsequent returns to the stage have been as varying as they were lauded, from the world premiere of Sunset Boulevard in London opposite Patti LuPone, to Death of Salesman on Broadway, to a heartbreaking turn in I Never Sang for My Father with John Mahoney at Steppenwolf. He has starred onstage and onscreen opposite some of the most iconic actors in the industry including Jack Nicholson, Al Pacino, Vanessa Redgrave, Richard Gere, Angela Basset, John Lithgow, Naomi Watts, Jessica Chastain, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Julia Roberts, to name a few. Other plays at Steppenwolf include Our Town, Three Sisters, Earthly Possessions, Detroit, The Minutes, and Orphans (Jeff Award), which took him to New York (Theatre World Award), London’s West End, and eventually the movie (Best Newcomer, Motion Picture Bookers Club) with Albert Finney and Mathew Modine. Other Chicago credits include Pal Joey and Death of a Salesman at the Goodman, and others at Victory Gardens, World Playhouse, Water Tower Place, and Marriott Lincolnshire. Broadway and Off-Broadway include Death of a Salesman (Outer Critics and Drama Desk awards, Tony nomination), Come Back Little Sheba (Outer Critics nomination), Brooklyn: The Musical, Orpheus Descending opposite Vanessa Redgrave, Moonchildren, Brilliant Traces, The Red Address, and Speaking in Tongues. Other London/West End theatre credits include the original Joe Gillis in Sunset Boulevard, Andy Dufresne in a stage adaptation of The Shawshank Redemption which premiered in Dublin, Ireland, and Dinner with Friends. Regionally, he has appeared at the Manhattan Theatre Club, Second Stage, Roundabout, Hartford Stage, Papermill Playhouse, Seattle Rep, Geffen, and Alhambra theatres. He has starred in two TV series: Nothing Sacred, which earned him a Golden Globe nomination (as well as Viewers for Quality Television, Online Film and Television Critics Association, and TV Critics Association Best Actor nominations), Skin on Fox, and the NBC miniseries Hunt for the Unicorn Killer (Online Film and Television Critics nomination). He has also appeared on Law and Order: SVU and the recent Justified: City Primeval. Cable/Video films include Orpheus Descending, The Wrong Man, Ruby’s Bucket of Blood, Monday Night Mayhem, and Power and Beauty. Some of his films include Risky Business, Miles from Home, In Country, Sleeping with the Enemy, Liebestraum, Hoffa, The Night We Never Met, Rising Sun, Firelight, A Thousand Acres, Eye of God, Doe Boy, Gregory’s Two Girls, When Strangers Appear, Carry Me Home, Charlotte’s Web, and Wilde Salome.
