Synopsis
WORLD PREMIERE Wendall Greene has been planting trees, turning his land wild again, and giving his young friend, Jimmy, guidance on how to come to manhood in a cauldron of poverty and racism. Jimmy's mother, Cindy, loves her boy but is engaged in her own desperate search for luck and love with tragic consequences for them all. Developed through Steppenwolf's New Plays Initiative, this play by Chicago writer Jeffrey Mangrum is at once brutal and lyrical, frank and haunting.Content Advisory
