Synopsis
CHICAGO PREMIERE The Howard Fishman Quartet, one of New York's most "ultra-talented and breathtaking ensembles" whose music "transcends time and idiom," makes its Chicago debut with an intimate and explosive performance. Their live performances combine hook-laden improvisational rock with virtuoso musicinship to create a powerful show that The Village Voice describes as, "something of a shock."The evening will begin with a set of intimate and acoustic material from their first two albums, plus selections from We Are Destroyed, a spoken-word piece being developed in New York with The Public Theatre. The second half of the performance will be a raucous, electric set incorporating a drummer as the band digs into its latest material, songs from the just-released Do What I Want.
