FLUIDITY follows the story of three dancers, stuck in detention, who share more in common than is first apparent. This piece synthesizes various genres of dance in an immersive experience featuring an electric trio of performers.
Recording artist Christopher Titus (TightUs) teams up with producer and photographer Taji Elemah to co-create this energetic performance piece featuring singer and vocal producer Q. Shunté (a collaborator with TightUs in the band BOIFRND), and artists/dancers Jarqueze Simmons and Brandon Cox (Childish Brandino).
About the Artists
Taji Elemah (creator, writer & co-director) is a writer, director, actor, photographer and artist manager from the south side of Chicago. Taji started his professional artist career in 2015 at Columbia College Chicago as a photographer and graphic designer. Taji later branched out into the television acting realm in 2020. Taji starred on FOX’s Empire’s final season playing the main cast’s head of security, filming alongside actors Taraji P. Henson, Terrace Howard and Vivica A. Fox. He was later featured on Showtime’s The Chi, The CW’s Batwoman and STARZ’s Power Book: Force.Taji found his passion for writing his senior year of high school. Using a popular publication site, Wattpad, Taji created his first novel in 2014, The Heart’s Attraction which currently holds a Top 400 slot out of 15,000 in Romance novels on the site. FLUIDITY is Taji’s debut stage writing piece.Taji is the current owner of Clear Eye Production Studio, serving as lead photographer as well as Manager for the hit R&B group, BOIFRND and TightUs. >Christopher “TightUs” Titus (co-director and principal dancer/actor) is a rapper, singer, creative director and dancer from Markham, Illinois. While studying at Columbia College Chicago, he was an intern for Power 92 radio station photo shoots in Chicago, Illinois. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in acting, TightUs pursued a full-time career of background acting with 4 Star casting agency. He has appeared in shows such as The Big Leap on FOX and Work In Progress on Showtime. TightUs is also a background dancer for various artists, such as Shawnna and Mikey Everything. In 2019, TightUs began to experiment with music and joined the artist collective Haus Of Everything. He also became a creative director/producer for various independent artists in the Chicagoland area. TightUs received his first award for creative direction for best LGBTQ video of the year. Under the leadership of Mr. Everything, he blossomed as a full-time recording artist and released an EP titled TMZ in 2023. TightUs's current focus is to continue to release music and perform with his R&B group BOIFRND. They are currently performing their debut album FRNDZONE. Jarqueze Simmons (principal dancer/actor) is a movement artist from the West Side of Chicago whose dance journey began later than most, but louder than many. Starting his formal training at 16, he grounded himself in contemporary, modern, and jazz before expanding his vocabulary into West African, tap, Chicago footwork, and hip hop. His versatility and instinctive musicality have made him a sought-after performer across the Chicagoland creative scene. He’s graced stages alongside artists such as D-Low, Kash Go Crazy, Mikey Everything, BOIFRND, DomoMoon, Hasaan Honus, Corey McDonald, and countless other artists who are shaping Chicago’s sound and culture. His performance history spans some of the city’s most iconic platforms, including Carnival, Urbanite, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Jay Pritzker Pavilion, and Houston’s Black Queer AF Music Festival. Whether it’s a theater, a festival stage or a raw creative space, Jarqueze thrives in the electricity of live performance where his storytelling, precision, and West Side fire come alive in real time. Brandon "Brandino" Cox (principal dancer/actor) is from Chicago and graduated from Urban Prep Englewood High School before attending Bethune-Cookman University for Mass Communication/Theatre Arts. During his high school years, he participated and led the Artist Development program for future singers, dancers, rappers, and models. Brandon has since pursued a full-time career background dancing for various artists, such as Mikey Everything, Lila Star, Serenity Lopez, Trinity K. Bonet, and more. Since 2016, Brandon has begun experimenting with music and in 2024 joined the artist collective Haus Of Everything. Under the leadership of Mikey Everything and the guidance of fellow members of the Haus, he blossomed as a full-time dancer and recording artist. His current focus is to continue to perform his music in various shows alongside his R&B group BOIFRND. Brandon plans to entertain by any means necessary.
Q. Shunté (actor) is a singer, engineer, vocal producer, and bandmate. His southern humble beginnings are reminiscent of a classic tale of a person chasing after their dreams, steeped in determination and a relentless pursuit of passion. Known for his remarkable ability to layer in stacks of lush vocals, and thought-provoking lyrics, he has established himself as a vital creative force within the Chicago music scene. When he takes on a stage, expect an unfiltered showcase of talent and passion that promises to leave an indelible mark on all who are fortunate enough to be present. Follow Q.
