About This Event

Scratch Night highlights original, contemporary, visual and physical theatre works in progress by different Chicago Latine artists to give them the opportunity to perform a 10 minute section of a show in front of an audience to help with its development. This curated evening is produced by Alice da Cunha and Raquel Torre.

About Destinos

To kick off the 6th Destinos Chicago International Theater Festival “Destinos Spotlight Weekend” of programming will be presented from September 28-October 1 as part of Steppenwolf ‘s LookOut Series. This spotlight will feature four nights of Latine Chicago theater artists performing four different genres: comedia, improv, musica and teatro fisico. The weekend kicks off with Vanessa Garcia’s sketch comedy revue La Carne Asada followed by an improv comedy night, Ratas de Dos Patas; Cabaret Parodia’s Que Dramaticas: A Telenovela & Musical Revue and ending with an all-Latine Scratch Night with Physical Theater Festival Chicago.

Since 2017, Destinos: Chicago International Latino Theater Festival has presented Latino theater with a focus on culturally unique artists hailing from the U.S. and Latin America.
