New Work for our New World
Steppenwolf NOW is a new virtual programming stream, offering opportunities to bring innovative and provocative art to you. Recent productions, like the (Virtual) Seagull reading and the radio play The American Clock have allowed us to bring more ensemble members together in one production than have ever come together on our stage! As our virtual projects continue, Steppenwolf NOW will include commissioned work EXCLUSIVELY created for the virtual platform.
THE AMERICAN CLOCK: A huge cast of more than 30 Steppenwolf ensemble members tackle more than 50 roles in this radio play rendition of Arthur Miller’s kaleidoscopic view of the resilient, joyful spirit of the American people, set against the backdrop of the economic struggles of the 1930s. Steppenwolf invites you to sit back, power down your screens and let the power of a well-told story spark your imagination and touch your heart. Now streaming through July 1 for members!
Get ready for thrilling new work from ensemble member Rajiv Joseph (Guards at the Taj, Describe the Night), James Ijames (The Most Spectacularly Lamentable Trial of Miz Martha Washington) and Mia Chung (Catch as Catch Can), followed by ensemble member Bruce Norris (Downstate, Clybourne Park), Donnetta Lavinia Greys, Isaac Gómez and more to be announced.
