Housed primarily in the 1700 Theatre, LookOut is Steppenwolf’s performance series that presents the work of artists and companies across genre and form: emerging artists and performance legends, quintessential Chicago companies and young aspiring ensembles, familiar Steppenwolf faces and new friends.

The LookOut Producing Intern/Apprentice assists the LookOut Producing Team in the day-to-day operations of planning and producing the series. Daily/Weekly operations and tasks can include: helping to generate artist agreements, tracking and reporting ticket sales of LookOut performances, scouting performances and artists across Chicago, meeting with prospective LookOut artists, maintaining and organizing the LookOut submission email address, proofing marketing materials and press releases, distributing LookOut artist assets between Steppenwolf departments  to meet deadlines, supporting programming that takes place in Front Bar, and providing boots-on-the-ground producing support for LookOut performances.

Candidates should possess a basic knowledge of the performance community in Chicago, a passion for championing exciting artists, a strong perspective on and understanding of performance across disciplines, problem-solving instincts, flexibility, and a desire to explore and learn about the work of running a presenting series.
