ABOUT THIS SHOW

At Rat Mass, we worship rats. Through comedy, performance art and audience participation, you will become indoctrinated into a world of shadows and trash. Join us for music, rituals and games to rid yourself of your human woes and unleash your inner creature. May we all become feral and free.

Perry Letourneau and Joseph Bryant, the creators and Creature Preachers of the Church of Ratology, devised the show based on their own religious upbringings in America and the formative experiences associated with them. Perry attended Catholic school growing up in Boston, and Joseph was raised a Protestant in Georgia. Both are now working artists in the hub of comedy and performance that is Chicago, where Rat Mass has developed a loyal cult following since its inception in January 2023. Since then, Rat Mass ranked first runner up in the Chicago Reader's Best Comedy Show poll and traveled abroad for an eight day run at Edinburgh Fringe.

Full lineup to be announced.

Please note that this show is for audiences 21 and over.

There is a surprisingly beautiful message to the Church of Ratology as a whole... it is strange to find yourself weirdly emotional at a ceremony worshipping rats.
— Kat Mokrynski, Broadway World

Silly, spiritual euphoria... a bizarro world version of a religion
— Colin Flaherty, Squirrel Comedy
