ABOUT THIS EVENT

80 Minutes Around the World showcases stories by immigrants, refugees, and allies about their immigration experience. Founded by 80+ time Moth Story Slam winner Nestor Gomez, the first show debuted in 2017 with showings in Chicago theaters, before making its way to New York City in summer 2018 and LA in 2021. The wide breath of participants over the years have included storytellers, writers, comedians, and other performers.

About Nestor "The Boss" Gomez

Nestor "The Boss" Gomez was born in Guatemala and moved to Chicago undocumented in the mid-80's. He is a seventy-three time Moth Slam winner, three time Chicago Moth Grand Slam winner, 2022 Milwaukee Grand Slam winner and 2022 National Storytelling Association Grand Slam winner. He is also the creator, producer, curator and host of 80 Minutes Around the World, a storytelling show that features the stories of immigrants their descendants and allies.
