STEPPENWOLF'S THEATER BUILDING, LOCATED at 1650 North Halsted in the heart of Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood, was constructed in 1991. Our Downstairs Theatre is one of the most intimate performance spaces in the nation, with no seat more than 40 feet from the stage. The design process involved consultation with the leading actors, directors and designers of the time. This resulted in an acoustically superior theater that features state-of-the-art artistic resources used by our artists to test their creative boundaries.

Naming a seat at Steppenwolf offers donors the opportunity to create a lasting impression at the theater. Your generous donation will be recognized with a permanently engraved plaque on a seat in our Downstairs Theatre.
