August: Osage County wins six Jeff Awards, including best production, best new work, best director (ensemble member Anna D. Shapiro), best actress (Deanna Dunagan), scenic design (Todd Rosenthal) and best-ensemble. The Steppenwolf production starts previews October 30th at the Imperial Theatre on Broadway.
The Jeff Awards committee announced that August: Osage County is nominated in the following categories: Best Play, Ensemble Cast, New Work (Tracy Letts), Director (Anna D. Shapiro), Principal Actress (Deanna Dunagan), Principal Actress (Amy Morton), Cameo Performance (Dennis Letts) and Scenic Design (Todd Rosenthal). Other Steppenwolf nominations include: Supporting Actor (Michael Shannon, The Pillowman), Principal Actress (Claire Elizabeth Saxe, The Diary of Anne Frank) and Projections Design (Stephan Mazurek, Sonia Flew).
Ensemble member Martha Plimpton was Tony-nominated and won the Drama Desk and Outer Critics Awards for her role in Coast of Utopia.
