Join Steppenwolf's Young Adult Council
THE YOUNG ADULT COUNCIL IS a small group of high school students from around Chicago devoted to exploring the collaborative possibilities between the theatre and young adults. Council members will work with their peers, Steppenwolf staff and artists to create programs that speak to their interests, ideas and creative goals. During the year long membership, the Council will participate in various workshops and discussions, will see productions, and create their own programming for young adults at Steppenwolf.
Council members will receive a stipend for their commitment to rigorous and exciting work.
Application Requirements:
- Must be in high school
- Must be able to serve a one year commitment, meeting from one to four times a month
- Must be responsible for transportation to/from Steppenwolf
- Demonstrates a previous interest in theatre—whether as a performer, technician, writer or audience member
- Interested in building leadership skills
Application Process
Application Deadline is October 30th, 2007
Interested candidates need to submit the application which includes basic information, two letters of recommendation and a personal statement by the deadline. Please download the application form for detailed instructions.
Several candidates will be selected to move to the second round. These candidates will attend a Steppenwolf production, write a response essay about the experience and will interview with Steppenwolf for Young Adults Staff.
