Master Teacher Workshop

Master Teacher Workshops are 2-hour courses designed to address state reading goals. Led by a Steppenwolf Teaching Artist, the workshops use creative techniques to improve student comprehension of literature, using texts related to our Steppenwolf for Young Adults season.

Master Teacher Workshops are FREE and offer CPDU credits!

Spring Workshop: fml: how Carson McCullers saved my life
taught by a Steppenwolf Teaching Artist
Saturday, January 21st, 1:00 – 5:00 pm
(register by January 18th)

  • An exclusive reading of the play with the cast, followed by a post-show discussion
  • The workshop will explore ways to combat bullying and create community in the classroom through the arts; inspired by the β€˜It gets Better Project,’ a campaign to create hope for gay teens facing harassment
  • Special guest! Sara Kerastas of About Face Theatre, a Chicago theatre dedicated to a national dialogue on gender and sexual identity
