THE VISITING COMPANY INITIATIVE

INTRODUCING THE STEPPENWOLF VISITING COMPANY REPERTORY SERIES
Steppenwolf is embarking on a new phase of its Visiting Company Initiative. In the 2009-2010 season, we will produce the Visiting Company Repertory Series in the Garage Theatre. Three Chicago based theatre companies will collaborate and present their productions in rotating repertory for a ten week period. We hope that this producorial model will mitigate some of the pressures and constraints of producing individual productions for the companies involved and allow Steppenwolf the opportunity to be in conversation with some of Chicago's most vibrant and exciting emerging theatre companies and their audiences.

The theme for Steppenwolf's 09/10 season is:

The power of belief. It can inspire us, delude us, define us. We make a leap of faith, not knowing where we'll land. Choosing to believe illuminates what's authentic in our lives and inspires us to reinvent our story. Steppenwolf's 2009-2010 season: five stories that explore how the act of belief can corrupt, isolate, nourish or empower us. Join us as we examine what happens when we make the choice to believe.
