Stephen Ptacek

Stephen is a Sound Designer, Musician, Composer, Playwright and Recording Engineer. This is his third time working with LiveWire Chicago, where he previously designed sound for The 13th of Paris and A Bright New Boise. He won a Jeff Award for Sound Design in 2008, and has been nominated two other times. As a company member with Dog & Pony Theatre, he has worked as a writer, director, actor, sound designer and composer. This summer he and Dog & Pony Co-Artistic Director Devon DeMayo will debut a brand new musical they devised together, The Whole World Is Watching. Stephen plays in a bunch of bands, including El Is A Sound Of Joy, FLUXBIKES and Sad Brad Smith. He's also a recording engineer at the Experimental Sound Studio and a DJ on WNUR 89.3FM.
