Synopsis
Hailed for its honest portrayals of lives on the fringe, the award-winning Roadworks Productions in association with Steppenwolf presents This is Our Youth. Holding $15,000 in stolen cash, Dennis, Warren and Jessica scramble to negotiate everything from drug deals, sex, romance and even friendship before the missing cash goes noticed. Set in 1982 Upper West Side Manhattan, these children are affluent but rudderless - the product of the excessive Reagan "Me" years. They are racing toward adulthood at a time when becoming an adult is less of a rite of passage than a symptom of parental neglect. Like its characters, This is Our Youth is funny, high-energy and ultimately disturbing.
